The Glorious Journey of Adam Fields Producer- A Rundown

Adam Fields Producer is an American executive, entrepreneur, film & television producer and a well-known figure in Hollywood.

Born in New York City, Fields showcased his passion with film making quite early in his age. It was during his graduation at the University of California, Berkeley when he started his first film company running several film festivals in the school auditorium.

After graduating in 1980, he began working for Creative Artists Agency as an assistant to agent Martin Baum. But it wasn’t long before he moved on to join PolyGram Pictures in 1981 where he became the Executive Vice President of Production within a year.

Fields supervised a number of films for PolyGram Pictures including:

• An American Werewolf in London

• Six Weeks

• Missing

 • Deadly Blessing

• The Pursuit of DB Cooper

• & Endless Love

The Endless Love single for which he was the music supervisor and executive producer not only became the No.1 hit of that time but also won multiple grammies, got nominated for both Oscar and Golden Globe, and launched the solo career of Lionel Richie.

Later on, he executive produced another soundtrack for the film Flashdance which also became a multi-platinum billboard hit.

In 1983, he teamed up with studio chief Ned Tanen at Universal Pictures and ran the development and production of John Hughes’ directorial debut- Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club.

In 1984, he created his own production house named Adam Fields Production in collaboration with Paramount Pictures as a way to bring new talent into the industry. During this time, he worked with many stars (then newcomers) like Madonna, Uma Thurman, Dennis Quaid and Winona Ryder and produced movies including Vision Quest, Whoopee Boys, Johnny Be Good, and Great Balls of Fire.

His work in Vision Quest with Madonna was much appreciated as it generated not 1 but 3 number one hit singles- Crazy For You, Gambler, and Only The Young From Journey.

In 1990, Fields displayed his metal in entrepreneurship again when he founded a new film marketing company- Preview Tech. Frustrated with the way things were with film marketing, he used this firm to build a network of consumer electronic stores across the country to post movie trailers and previews on their TV monitors. The firm quickly became a high value enterprise from a simple $500 start-up which he then sold to New-York based bankers- Veronis, Suhler & Associates in a multi-million-dollar deal.

After that, he teamed-up with Jon Peters as President of Peters Entertainment and supervised films such as Ali, Rosewood, My Fellow Americans and Money Train.

In 1997, Fields re-established his own production house at 20th Century Fox where he produced films like Ravenous, Broke down Palace and cult hit- Donnie Darko as his solo projects.

He later executive produced movies such as Limitless, Safe Haven and Drive Angry.

In 2010, he joined Mira max as Head of New Content and executive produced Sin City- A Dame To Kill For, the sequel to Frank Miller’s Sin City. He further produced a TV series “From Dusk Till Down”, which was an adoption of Robert Rodriguez's film with the same title. The show has been successfully aired for 3 seasons to date.

Finally, he landed at Sony picture as a producer and special consultant where he produced the hit comedy- The Wedding Ringer, followed by Bad Santa 2 that was released in 2016.

At present, Adam Fields Producer is involved in a number of projects such as Shrink (based on Rob Liefield’s comic), a reboot of Look Who’s Talking, and a remake of Bunny Lake Is Missing.
